As part of the Firle Artists Summer ArtWave, Carola van Dyke is opening her home as an Independent Artists Open House - The Dutch House - (No 24 The Street, Firle) to visitors, Weekends from The quintessentially rural rooms of her 17th Century cottage (previously a sweet shop and shoe makers, and currently the home of the rural businesses Tiny Tulips and Firle Bakery) will display the work of local artists and makers. The exhibitions will include fine examples of silver jewellery, cicada jewellery, cowhide handbags and purses, children's clothes, paintings, screenprints and handmade lotions and creams. Outdoors, in Carola's gardens there will be refreshments and sandwiches produce by Firle Bakery; alongside an exhibition of metal work, mosaics and ceramics.
